New Art

Hello everyone, its time to reveal my latest piece of art work. I started it months ago and did about half of it then, but only finally finished it off last week! Its inspired by some of the art work I saw at Wakefield Art Walk last September.

Its all the sayings, proverbs and phrases I kind of use to live my life by- I quote those that appear here all the time. I'm a bit like Dot Cotton from Eastenders and her endless bible quotes- except I quote these!

I decided to do this piece (for myself) to commemorate my turning 30 in November last year- its kind of a round up of how I live life my life and my world view, which will be fun to look back on when I'm old and see if any of these still apply then. I hope they do! Its quite a simple piece really, anyone could do this- its just pencil on cartridge paper. I wanted it to look youthful and random.

This piece isn't for sale but if you'd be interested in commissioning me to do something similar or a copy for yourself (or someone else as a gift) do feel free to contact me- I'm happy to use phrases of your own choosing too, or bible quotes (for those who are like Dot Cotton!) etc, whatever you'd like. Other illustrations/ motifs unique to the person the piece is for can also be incorporated into the picture. In my version the illustrations link to the phrases they surround but that doesn't have to be the case.

I can be contacted in the usual way- Facebook, @BekhaG on Twitter and by email at rebecca.greensides@hotmail.co.uk. I'm more than happy to ship internationally.

I already know what I'm painting next- I got inspired by some of the wonderful art work hanging in the Lowry Hotel in Manchester. Watch this space :)
